Cold storage insulated panels, they are basically these sandwich type things made for keeping temperatures low in places like cold rooms or freezers. The idea is to control the cold inside so stuff does not warm up too much. 
I think the way they work is with an insulated core right in the middle, bonded to metal sheets on both sides. Those sheets are pretty durable, you know, to handle the cold without breaking down. It seems straightforward, but maybe there is more to how they stay efficient over time.
